Technology improves traffic

How do you maximize the existing roads without constructing new roadways?  Technology!

Upper Uwchlan Township has been awarded $614,625 for safety and mobility improvements on the Route 100 corridor, one of the major north/south thoroughfares thru Chester County.

Beginning in May, Upper Uwchlan will implement an improvement that will reduce traffic delays, fuel consumption, harmful emissions.  will include the installation of an adaptive “intelligent” traffic control signal system.  The township will be installing an adaptive “intelligent” traffic control signal system.

New traffic signals will be interconnected, allowing for them to communicate, monitor traffic flow, collect traffic data, and adjust as necessary based upon detected volume.
